The “Good Hands” at Allstate Continue to Fight Legitimate Claims
Allstate markets itself as the “good hands” company. Don’t believe it. When it comes to filing a claim against Allstate, watch out for those “good hands” or you may get sucker punched.
Toyota Sued Over Acceleration Claims
Reuters reports that 7 auto insurance companies, including Allstate, are suing Toyota Motor Corp. to recover money they paid in claims for car crashes blamed on unintended acceleration of Toyota vehicles. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, as many as 89 crash-related deaths since 2000 may be linked to sudden acceleration in Toyota and Lexus vehicles.
The Deck is Stacked in Favor of the Big Insurance Companies: Learn How to Unstack It
Forget what you may have heard about insurance companies being “good neighbors” or being in “good hands.” Insurance companies are in the business of making money. Their business is to collect as much money as they can in premiums and pay as little money as possible for claims. If you’ve been injured in a car accident, don’t expect the big insurance companies to look out for your best interest. Your best interest is incompatible with their drive for higher profit.
Will Filing a Claim Cause My Insurance Rates to Go Up?
Will filing a claim cause my insurance rates to go up? This is a very common question. The short answer is: It depends on whether the accident was primarily your fault.
Aggressive Settlement Tactics of the Big Insurance Companies
I work hard to ensure that my injured clients get the maximum compensation they deserve under the law as well as a sense of justice and maybe closure. That means going up against the big insurance companies which want to get away with paying as little as possible to boost their bottom lines. In short, the insurance companies have a financial incentive to belittle injury claims, but sometimes that can lead to belittling the people filing those claims too.
How Much is My Case Worth?
How much is my case worth? It’s a question I hear frequently. Clients often tell me they’ve heard (it’s usually a friend of a friend kind of thing) that their settlement should be 3 times, or 5 times, or even 10 times the amount of the medical bills. There is no easy formula. The value of your case depends on many factors, including the nature and extent of your injuries, the type of medical treatment you receive, the length of time in treatment, residual injuries (such as a scar or limp) and many other factors.
Welcome
I am pleased to announce the launch of my San Diego Car Accident Blog. I started this blog to focus on legal matters that don’t always get the attention — or explanation — they deserve. I hope you find it useful.
