Beach Clean Up
The firm and friends of the firm joined Surfrider Foundation to help keep our beautiful city clean. Our team filled several bags of trash scattered throughout Ocean Beach and logged our findings. Cigarette butts are the number one most littered item in San Diego. Our team found over 50 cigarette butts alone.
Aseltine School Holiday Food Drive
Since 1968, Aseltine School has served at-risk youth with severe emotional disturbances and learning disabilities, whose needs cannot be met in the public schools. Aseltine conducts a yearly holiday food drive to ensure their students meals throughout the year. Eugene Bruno & Associates was happy to fill a bin at the 2019 food drive!
San Diego AIDS Walk & Run
The firm spent Saturday morning volunteering at the 30th Annual Aids Walk Run on September 28, 2019. We cheered on the participants and provided water. Over 18,000 San Diegans are living with HIV/AIDS and the funds raised help support 14 local HIV service organizations in our community.
Restore Nate
Representing our clients is rewarding work, but Bruno & Associates still looks for additional ways to give back to the community. From community service to scholarships to monetary donations, Bruno & Associates enjoys giving back to the community and encourages others to do the same. Recently, Nate Lewis’s family came to us in need of help and we were glad to be able to help them.
Walk Like MADD San Diego 2019
Our firm was one of the 2019 Walk Like MADD event sponsors. The event aims to raise awareness and funds to eliminate drugged and drunk driving. This is a nationwide event occurring in 90 cities. The event raised over $71,000.00.
Walk Like MADD Carlsbad 2019
Our firm was one of the 2019 Walk Like MADD event sponsors. The event aims to raise awareness and funds to eliminate drugged and drunk driving. This is a nationwide event occurring in 90 cities. Some of the firm participated in the walk while others remained at the booth passing out snacks and beverages to the participants.
2020 Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to our 2020 scholarship winner, Joseph Blount. Joseph, age 20, was born and raised in San Diego and currently lives in the Mid City area.
Walk Like MADD San Diego 2017
The firm walked in and raised over $500 to help end drunk driving in our community. The event was successful in raising over $80,000 with over 600 walkers. The event is held yearly by the San Diego MADD chapter.
Can Distracted Driving Cause Blindness?
Ok, not real blindness. But it can cause something psychologists call intentional blindness, which is the failure to notice something because you weren’t expecting to see it and you were focusing on something else. It explains why you don’t notice what is right in front of you. Over the years, I have heard the same story from countless car accident defendants: they looked, but they did not see my client’s car. Many claim that my client’s vehicle “came from out of nowhere,” except it didn’t really, did it?
